I have been in IT for 44 years across many sectors. To find a product like SourceTree that is supported by a company as large as Atlassian, to be such a buggy and frustrating application is just so incredibly infuriating and time wasting.
Running on Windows, it regular just crashes and needs to be restarted.
Currently I cannot even do a Push. It kept displaying a blue Atlassian dialog asking for User and Password. Irrespective of why I typed in, I was rejected.
Updated my passwords, still no luck.
Refreshed OAuth keys and now a different message.
Updated Git and selected Embedded, no luck.
Now I am seeing error: bogus format in GIT_CONFIG_PARAMETERS
I also see a login request for Git Credential Manager for Windows asking me to enter UserName and Password. According to a few StackOverflow commnents it needs to be the actual account Name (not email) and a created Application Password ??
Ok so I have created that. What a convoluted process it is now.
I know the problems started way back years ago when SourceTree was amalgamated within Atlassian and login was integrated. It all fell apart then.
Atlassian - Can't you just create a straight forward application that does the job, that does not crash, and does not take hours to work through ?!?
PS. Not to mention the bottom part of the SourceTree app is seemingly chopped off. I am on a 1920x1080 screen.
