Why doesn't SourceTree clean up git.exe processes on exit.

dan landau April 6, 2018

ST Windows 2.4.8 starts multiple git.exe in the back ground and never closes them.  The more times you run Source tree the more version of git.exe run and they all take the same about of CPU and resources, quickly make the system unresponsive.

Hi

Sourcetree does track and attempt to shutdown all child processes when it closes down. However it sounds like it is showing problems for you.

Can you check if there is anything in the %localapddata%/Atlassian/Sourcetree/sourcetree.log indicating problem closing spawned processes.

You can also use the Tools/Process Viewer to see what git process are being run by Sourcetree.
