Why does Atlassian keep SourceTree versions known to crash as latest version?

Martin Fredriksson November 30, 2015

When the latest version of SourceTree is known to crash, why not just remove that from the sourcetree download site? This would prevent old users from updating to a version that crashes, and it would prevent new users from having their first experience of SourceTree being a crash.

The current latest version for Mac, 2.0.5.8 keeps crashing, and it is still the default version to download and to upgrade to. Anyone making the mistake of updating to the latest version can download 2.0.5.5 which works much better (http://downloads.atlassian.com/software/sourcetree/SourceTree_2.0.5.5.dmg).

Edit: updated latest version 2.0.5.8 which also crashes.
