Sourcetree crash on invalid path in .gitconfig

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open your global .gitconfig
  2. Make an invalid value (e.g. unescaped slash in `excludesfile` like "%userprofile%\global.gitignore")
  3. Attempt to open Sourcetree
  4. Whatever repositories were open before have been closed, shows repository list with refresh icon next to each
  5. Attempt to open a repository, BugSplat crash reporter appears
  6. Fix invalid value in global .gitconfig
  7. Opening Sourcetree and the repository works

(Sidenote: are we not supposed to file bug reports in the SOURCETREE-WIN jira board?)
