SourceTree won't start since a few days

For a few days now SourceTree keeps crashing on Win 10.

I have tried reinstalling, installing previous versions, removing app data, removing localdata, checked if user.config was corrupt, but to no avail.
The app just keeps crashing..

Hi Hanno, I see several things that could be causing this problem.

  • It could be related to the version of .Net framework you're using (Framework-versie: v4.0.30319). Uninstall it and install .Net 4.5.2 (at least).
  • Looks like you also have quite an old version of SourceTree (SourceTree.exe, versie: 1.10.23.1), have you tried installing the newest version from our website.
  • When you said you tried uninstalling, were you performing a clean uninstall? These are the steps:
  1. Wipe SourceTree preferences. 
  2. Uninstall SourceTree (if it shows on the App&Features list)
  3. Backup then delete the directory below before proceeding with next step
    • Navigate to C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local and delete SourceTree & SourceTree-Settings folder
    • Navigate to C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Atlassian and delete all SourceTree Files/Folder.
