SourceTree installation Windows - Unable To Extract / Download Failed

Henry Majander March 22, 2017

Hi, I am trying to install SourceTree, and only end up getting errors. Running the SourceTreeSetup-1.10.23.1.exe at first \PortableGCMSt.7z fails to load with a port 443 timeout, then after the Install splash screen once you sign up & so forth in the Install Tools gets stuck and   "Git Credential Manager", "Git" and so forth downloads fail again with port 443 timeouts. Is the https://downloads.atlassian.com/sourcetree/windows down or is the matter with my SSH?

A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 52.84.26.51:443

NOTE: this is Amazon's cloudfront.net IP, so it is quite possible to have been blocked as a spam IP, in that case, is there an alternate source to get a full package?

Well, answering myself: "known bug"

If you are behind a proxy, SourceTree fails to make the downloads from https://downloads.atlassian.com/.

An alternative workaround is to stick with the 1.9.10.0 install until this gets fixed:

https://downloads.atlassian.com/software/sourcetree/windows/SourceTreeSetup_1.9.10.0.exe
