SourceTree for Windows fails to fetch git repository

hisaotsu June 27, 2017

Hi,

SourceTree for Windows 2.1.2.5.

When I tried to fetch a git repository, it fails with the following error, a part of which is unreadable regardless of the language setting.  (I use Japanese, but even I set source tree to English and restart, it does not change the message.)

It fails both in with/without a proxy from the same PC.
The very same repository can be fetched from SourceTree Mac 2.5.3 (115) and 2.5.3 (116, updated today).

The below is the message I see on Windows SourceTree when I fetch the repository.

```
git -c diff.mnemonicprefix=false -c core.quotepath=false -c credential.helper=manager-st fetch --prune origin
fatal: TypeInitializationException encountered.
'Microsoft.Alm.Cli.Program' ̃^CvqOX[܂B
```

So, my question to you here is -- what do I need to check on Windows?

Hi Hisao! Can you have a look at the response by Michael Minns at this thread and follow his steps?

Cheers,

Ana
