SourceTree crashes when trying to view staging hunks

Edited

I keep experiencing a problem with my SourceTree (version 2.4.7.0) where it crashes while I'm trying to view the hunks of a changed file. This most frequently happens with changes to python or xml files. I can stage the entire file, but often need to read through the file to ensure I am staging the correct hunks. This is the crash report:

I haven't found any way around this to date, other than using 'Stage all'. I often can't even get the unstaged files to be deleted, unless I delete my whole repository and clone anew.

SourceTreee also crashes even when simply trying to view the file changes, after committing using 'Stage all'.

Any advice??

Hi Christine,

welcome to the Atlassian Community!

From the download page I read that there are meanwhile updated versions out. Maybe an update of Sourcetree suffices to make this annoying crashes past.

If this should not do the trick there is the option to have a look into logfiles. Sometimes this provides information on why Sourcetree crashes in certain situations.

Please check and let us hear from you if it helped.

Cheers,
Daniel
