SourceTree Not Responding

We are having issues with the most recent version of SourceTree on Windows 2012R2 server.

It keeps freezing up and NOT RESPONDING without even giving it a task. Just by starting the program.  It is consuming CPU and RAM.

Any suggestions?

Hi Frank,

  • Are you receiving any specific error messages in the UI such as "fetching older commits...?"
  • Do you see any memory errors in the logs?
  • Does restarting SourceTree resolve the issue?

If you do get a "fetching older commits..." error try the following:

Go to Tools -> Options -> General Tab and set Log rows to fetch per load to 0.

Take a look at the SourceTree logs and see if there are any additional errors that may help identify what's going on and we'll go from there.

Cheers,

Branden
