I can't close a hotfix

Edited

Last night I was able to push changes to a Bitbucket repo without issues, but today I am unable to close a hotfix through Sourcetree. I am presented with the following error:

fatal: could not read Username for 'https://bitbucket.org': Device not configured

I found a number of similar issues in the Atlassian community, but none of the suggested fixes are working for me and most of them seemed to be corrected by application updates that are far earlier than the version I have installed, which is the most recent version 4.0.2 (236).

I am using a Mac with macOS Catalina 10.15.7

If anyone else runs into this, I found a sort of work around. I force deleted that hotfix, started a new hotfix, made the same changes, and then I was able to push that one. Not sure what the difference was, but that seemed to allow it to work. I've been using Bitbucket and SourceTree for more than three years and I've never experienced anything like this before.
