I am using sourceTree for 2 years now and I have it connected to the bitbucket. Today all of the sudden when trying to pull I get an error:
remote: To make a call, you need to use an app password.
fatal: unable to access 'url': The requested URL returned error: 403
So naturally I check my accounts and try to do the OAuth again but I didn't work. So I updated source tree to 3.0 (I am using a mac) and I was able to do the OAuth but I still could not pull.
So I looked into the whole app password and created one, changed to basic authentication but I'm still getting the same error no mater what I try.
I have 2FA enabled.
Any suggestions?
Hi @Tadej,
Our apologies for the hassle. A few things to try:
1. Remove and re-add your account, using OAuth + HTTPS
2. Remove and re-add your account, using OAuth + SSH, with appropriate key
3. Remove and re-add your account, using Basic Auth (app password) + HTTPS
Let us know if that doesn't work out and we'll continue digging to get to the bottom of this.

I tried all of the steps above but all result in the same error. I'm not really sure what could have happened for it to stop working all of the sudden.

Hi, did this issue ever get resolved? I seem to have the same problem with 2FA enabled as well.
