Add a public SSH key to SourceTree

Ashouria May 5, 2020

Hello forum,

I have an SSH public key in the format:

ssh-rsa XYZ rsa-key-2020-03-29

where XYZ is a long string (I assume the key itself). I have no clue how to insert this key into SourceTree. When I try to use the PuTTY generator, it asks for a file to import, not a string or text.

Could someone help me with this?

Thanks!

My suggestion is to create a file (e.g. id_rsa.pub) and save it somewhere on your PC. But from what I recall SourceTree actually is looking for your private key to import. That should be stored on your pc - if not use the keygen and save it, then you can import it.
