Local VMWare instances

Bilge Taylan Ulusoy August 7, 2012

Hey there,

are local VMWare instaces are counted as remote agents? For example: I've installed Bamboo on my dedicated root server. On the same server I want to run a Virtual machine as bamboo build agent. So I'd like to know if this "virtual" build agent is counted as local or remote agent, since they're on the same machine.

Thanks in advance

It will count as a remote agent. Only agents run within Bamboo Server's JVM count as local.

Hi Bilge,

It will be counted as 'remote agent' - the 'local agent' is a built-in agent into Bamboo server, so it's sharing JVM and resources with the Bamboo server. All other agents that are connecting to the Bamboo server (no matter of their physical location) are counted as 'remote'.
