Deleting a user without deleting their comments

Hi,

Hoping someone can help.

I'm attempting to delete a user, but it won't let me as there are comments associated with that user.

I don't want to delete the comments, as I need them to keep an accurate history.

Does anyone know a workaround to this?

The usual advice is not to delete users. Make them inactive and remove them from all groups and roles. Deleting them destroys your accurate history.
