Can FishEye or Stash bind commits to JIRA tickets using git-notes rather than commit messages?

Hi

I need to bind git commits to JIRA tickets after the fact (ticket number isn't known at commit time - tickets are created by post-receive hooks). In Subversion we would modify commit messages by svnadmin but in Git this cannot be done. In Git we can attach ticket numbers to commits using git-notes. The question is if FishEye or Stash can actually use the attached notes to bind the commits to tickets?
