why opgenie sent mail when jira's url change ?

Hi,

I'm jira administrator.
I see that opsgenie is connected to our jira but no alert is configured (I think my predecessor tested opsgenie at some point)

Recently we changed the url of our jira, and many users have received an email from opsgenie (see attachment)

I don't understand why opsgenie sent an email when no alert is configured. Can you help me understand?

Regards,

Hi Melanie,

The email in your screenshot was sent out because the URL of your opsgenie account was changed. All Opsgenie users would need to login again using the new URL. This email is not related to alerts at all - it's just letting users know that their current web sessions in Opsgenie were terminated due to the name change.
