Why does description in Time Sheet report reference a linked issue

qits August 6, 2015

This behaviour is as of our last upgrade 2 months ago.

Extracted reports in Excel display the name and url of the (parent) linked issue instead of the issue itself.

Using latest plugin version 2.9.0.3

JIRA version 6.4.4.

Attached a screenshot of the actual spreadsheet and actual issue in jira:   . In the example we see ALUR-88 and in the description the url points to ALUR-69.

  • ALUR-81 is related (parent of ) ALUR-69 via a link
  • ALUR-88 is a subtask of ALUR-88

Hi,

This seems to be expected behaviour.

1) Parent issue in plugin is the most parent one, which is calculated using Sub-Tasking, customizable Composition Issue Link and Epic Link field. So ALUR-69 is shown in excel report by plugin, instead of ALUR-81, because most likely ALUR-81 is a Story with Epic Link.

2) A link to parent issue is added, but unfortunately excel supports only one link per cell, so whole description is linked to parent issue.

Please let me know if you have any other concerns.

Thank you.
