Missing add Gadget option on Dashboard

New bee to JIRA, Can not see +add Gadget on my Dashboard. Am I missing something?

I'd guess that you are using the system default dashboard, which you cannot edit. You need to create your own dashboard (try the options near the top right), then you can add gadgets to it.
