Is it possible to automatically log into Jira after logging into Confluence?

I know that Jira and Confluence can have a trusted relationship within macros of the applications however can a user log into Confluence and then bring up jira without having to login. Basically log into Jira using the Confluence login process?

We offer an intermediary product called Crowd that addresses exactly this need. It serves as a single sign on connector that allows you to seamlessly log into all of the Atlassian products that use it as an authenticator.
