How can I clone an issue in the same projecto but different board?

Luna Sanz September 5, 2022

Hi, I would like to clone an issue in a specific status to another board IN THE SAME project=

same project but different board

Could that be possible?

Keep in mind that one is a kanban board and the other it's a scrum board.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Luna Sanz,

Boards are just for visualization of issues. That being said, you can first clone the issue to the same project and then create/modify the underlying filter queries of the Kanban & Scrum boards to pick only the relevant issues and to include/exclude the cloned issue as needed.

Hope this helps!

Hello @Luna Sanz

Issues are not "in" boards.

Issues are in projects. Boards are just a way to visualize and manipulate the issues in projects.

The issues that will show in a board are based on the Filter Query used for the board. An issue can display in more than one board at the same time because multiple filters can retrieve the same issues.

So, if you want an issue to appear in multiple boards, you have to ensure that the issues meets the conditions of the Filter Queries for both boards. It doesn't matter if the boards are Scrum boards or Kanban boards. Issues can appear in both types of boards at the same time.
