Hi,
I'm trying to paste some text and 2 tables in the description of a ticket, but when I click on save I get the following error message:
We couldn't save your content
It's too long for the field. Try attaching a file or page to the issue, or adding part of the content as comments.
There is a total of 4500 characters including spaces, how can it be over the 32K?
Regards,
Gauthier
Hello @Gauthier de Spa
How did you determine that this message applied to the Description field?
How did you determine the field contains only 4500 characters?
I did find another post with an answer suggesting that the table definition may be consuming the additional characters:
Thanks for your answer. Here is how I performed my investigation:
Thanks for the link, I had actually already found & read that post yesterday, but am in the same situation as the poster: no adequate to use a Confluence page for that topic...
How come that a table definition could take that much space? When working on premise and checking the source code, there is no way a table definition would take 30,000 characters! Is this a bug? Could it be solved?
Regards,
Gauthier

Hello @Gauthier de Spa
I don't have answers to your questions. I recommend that you have your Jira Administrator open a support case directly with Atlassian to get more information. And it would be great if you would share here what you learn from them.

On the table each cell adds some code, but what added the most in my case were line skips inside a cell and the fact the content of each individual cell being formatted as code (the formatting of each cell might count as more characters than the content itself )
