Add a new field to a BUG

I am trying to add an existing field to a sub-task to help with reporting. The sub taks is closed and jira is saying I cannot edit a closed task of this type. Any way I can get around this please

Do you want to add existing custom field to issue forms?

Or do you want to edit the field value?

So, you want to edit Labels in closed issue. 

It seems there is a workflow property in Closed status that prevents you edit fields.

You either change the status to another one and add Labels or you add local loop in workflow (transition from Closed to Closed with a screen that includes Labels field) if you have admin rights.
