Named SQL Instance - Unknown server host name

Deleted user August 30, 2017

Hi, I am trying to connect to a named SQL instance and am getting the 'Unknown server host name' error message. I read the posts about using the server name and then the port number of the database, but I'd rather not configure my database server to use a static port.

I also read the posts about updating the $JIRA_HOME/dbconfig.xml file, but can't seem to locate this file.

Is there a way to specify named instances thru the GUI or can someone point me to the right config files?

Thanks!

dbconfig.xml is the file you need.  You need to get through the configuration with a valid SQL configuration in the gui before this file will exist.

You have to use a static port, even with a "named" source.
