When I go to the project view it shows "Open Issues" by default but the sort order is by Priority. This is the least meaningful sort order in our case since we don't use priorities.
How can I change the "Open issues" filter to sort by key or date created by default?
Vote and comment on this issue to request that Atlassian add a way to change the default sort order:
You cannot change the default filters on the left. They are hardcoded into the code I believe.

"thumb up" to your information, you are totally right.
"thumb down" that Atlassian is still not able to add this functionality to change the default oder setting.
To set this order setting in the user profil would be even better.
