Do portals only work with Service Management?

I have Jira Service Management Premium. I have service portals for a couple of service management project.

Is it possible to have a portal that links to a Jira Software project (for direct issue injection into the backlog)?

No, the portal is a part of a Service Managment project.

Software is aimed more at developers than doing support work, so it doesn't have portals.

@Shaun McGuire  Process wise it makes more sense that a customer logs an incident when something is wrong in production and this could get escalated to a bug in a software project.

You could automate it but imho it’s up to the devs to decide if something is truely a bug

Hi!

We use JIRA Automation rule with muli-project scope

Trigger: Request created (in JSM)

Action: Create an issue in (Jira Software Project)

Copy a summary and a  description from the request to the issue
