Missing Artifact Repository Application

Phill Pafford April 6, 2021

I wanted to know why Atlassian does not have an app for artifacts that would be an alternative to these other vendors.

 * https://www.sonatype.com/product/repository-oss

 * https://jfrog.com/artifactory/

Currently I run several language specific artifact repositories for external and internal project dependancies. Some of these tools offer vulnerability reporting, license check and offer suggested patches/fixes. But there is not an easy solution to do all this, or the vendors doing this don't sell the application in an a la cart solution.

What are others doing to solve this problem?

Is Atlassian planning to solve this issue? if yes, where can I sign up to follow this effort

We are switching over more and more from the Atlassian cloud stack to the AWS, Azure or GitHub stack because of the lack of an artefact repository and a Docker registry in the Atlassian stack. Sure, you can integrate with various cloud solutions in this area but this is really not a long term solution for us. It also typically makes our complete pipeline more expensive.

I am quite disappointed that Atlassian does not even seem to give an answer to these questions (you are not the first to ask this) and by looking at the roadmap they do not have any plans in this area either.
