unable to pass through the setup options page while getting started with Crowd

Hello,

I just unpacked the tar file, modified "crowd-init.properties" started crowd and then when i was trying to do the setup on my browser, the page doesn't passes through the setup option page. Here is the error i am getting on my browser:

##

Error while trying to retrieve the supplied base URL: "Connect to xx.xx.xx.xx:8095 [/xx.xx.xx.xx failed: Connection timed out". Try http://xx.xx.xx.xx:8095/crowd instead.

##

I tailed the logs on my machine and this is what i see in there:

##

2015-11-12 13:02:26,376 http-bio-8095-exec-6 INFO [atlassian.johnson.filters.JohnsonFilter] The application is not yet setup. Redirecting request from '/console/login.action' to '/console/setup/selectsetupstep.action'
2015-11-12 13:02:26,630 http-bio-8095-exec-7 INFO [console.action.setup.SelectSetupStep] Current setup step is /console/setup/setupoptions.action

##

Can someone tell me what the deal is here and why it is timing out, please?

Hi,

Looks like your Crowd Server itself cannot reach Crowd. You might have a DNS or proxy issue.

Take a look at: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CROWDKB/Error+while+trying+to+retrieve+the+supplied+base+URL
