Hi everybody,
we are using crowd in our environment integrated with JIRA, Bitbucket and Bamboo. in crowd we synchronise several Microsoft Active Directories so that we have over 3000 users currently in crowd.
But in our projects using JIRA, Bitbucket and Bamboo we only use a maximum of 100 users. Hence we only have 100 user licenses for all, including crowd. We are now surprised that all synchronized users counted for license in crowd.
In JIRA only users count that are active in the jira-users group. Is there a similar possibility in crowd?
Unfortunately we can’t reduce the amount of users from Actice Directory with groups or more specific filters.
Best Regards,
Sven
Hi Sven,
I am surprised that you cannot use a specific LDAP filter to reduce the amount of users. Isn't there something specific to your Jira, Bitbucket and Bamboo users? (attributes or groups belonging like jira-users).
Another option would be to use Delegated Authentication Directories and link them to your Active Directories for authentication.
Regards,
Bruno
Hi Bruno, we thought that we couldn't use a filter for groups but could convince our customer to create AD group with only users using this specific service. Thanks for help Sven

How are you identifying these 100 users? Are the groups only in Crowd or are they in AD?
