Our need is to have a check box control on the page and user should able to select the option in page edit only, but when we use task list user can check or uncheck even if the page is in view mode (not in edit)
Hello Karteek,
Thank you for contacting us about this. While the user needs to have edit permissions to check off a task, it's expected behavior that they should be able to check off tasks while in view mode. This is how we intended the task macro to work.
There's a feature request to allow users with only view permissions to only check off tasks that are assigned to them:
As a workaround, you can embed the Page Properties Macro (not the Page Properties Report Macro), set it to HIDDEN, and include the tasks there:
This way, the panel will be hidden in view mode, and only people editing the page can see the tasks and check them off.
I hope that helps, but let me know if you have any questions about this.
Regards,
Shannon
