Space admins can only add individuals via 'permissions' to a space but why can't a space admin add a user to a group? The space admin should be able to add users to group(s), this should not require full, global confluence admin rights.
"Should" or "should not" aside, user management is strictly a site admin ability.
And there is actually good reason. If you as a space admin, decide to add a user to a group, you may unintentionally be giving that user access to another space to which they shouldn't have access.
Thank you, and I understand the need to keep a general user from committing this error but typically a space admin has the level of experience & specific tool knowledge that this use case would be highly unlikely. Do you know if there has been a request for this feature?

You're welcome, but keep in mind that, sadly, this request has been on the books for a decade! I.e., don't hold your breath.
