Difference in update view and edit views

Charles Bain September 21, 2019

Hi, I'm new to Confluence.

I updated a confluence document, then updated it.

Now I notice the edit views and the updated views are different: information has been moved around in the document.

I suspect this is because of Sections in the document.

Anyone have any suggestions? the edit view & updated views should be identical.

Thanks, Chuck

@Charles BainIn Edit View Confluence has  WYSIWYG editor, but sometimes it doesn't resemble displayed page, there can be many reason for this,

  • Page width when using editor is large vs page displayed (as it also contain sidebar)
  • When using Macro in edit view it is show as placeholder whereas content of Macro is displayed in page view.
  • You are trying to display remote content, etc.

I suggest you to use "Preview" option to see how would you page will look like.
