Create from Template Macro : pass variables ?

Edited

Hello,

i use some template of my own in my user space, with **variables**. Normal.

In order to call that template, i use another page with the _Create from Template Macro_. Not shocking.

Can anyone tell me if there is a possibility of passing some of my (two) needed template variables, in parameters to the _Create from Template Macro_ buton ? It could save me (a lot of) time !

Thanks in advance for your interest in this topic.

I am afraid this can't be done.  The problem is that the create from template macro takes a set of parameters that you define when editing (even when it's creation or the page is being generated by code), and the macro editing function doesn't recognise variables, it won't try to look into the contents, it'll just take the variable name as the parameter.

I think the only way you could do this would be to write your own "create from template" macro - one that accepts parameters that are variable names, and then when it runs, the code knows to interpret those as variable names and go ask Confluence for the current content of the variable.
