Can you create new spaces using templates?

Chris Burchell July 5, 2012

Hi all,

Is it possible to create a new space based off a previously created template space?

Scenario: We're using Confluence for our customer files, and each file is structured the same way (same pages of the same name).

What I want to do is create a documentation theme space with a full tree of blank pages (appropriately named), and then be able to duplicate that whenever we open a new customer file so then all we have to do is fill in the blank pages.

I would have thought this is can already be done, but maybe I'm wrong? I can't find any information on it anywhere.... can anyone advise? :)

Hallo thrax

Yes, you can do that using the Copy Space plugin:

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.atlassian.confluence.plugin.copyspace

It's mentioned in step 8 of this guide:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Creating+your+Technical+Documentation+Space

I hope this helps.

Cheers, Sarah
