TL;DR: We have added the ability to create Jira issues and Confluence pages to the slash menu in the Confluence editor. You can type “/create Jira issues” or “/create Confluence page” and select on the options in the menu to open an inline creation experience.
Hey everyone!
Over the next few weeks you should see an upgrade to your Confluence editor. You’ll be able to create Jira issues and Confluence pages inline without having to switch context to do so. We’ve looked at customer feedback and what our users were already doing and wanted to make it easier to create and link Jira issues as well as Confluence pages.
Create from the slash menu in the editor
Slash commands you can use to create new Jira issues:
/issue
/create Jira issues
/Jira
Slash commands you can use to create new Confluence pages:
/page
/create Confluence page
/Confluence
Create from the + menu in the toolbar
You can also access the features through the “+ v” menu in the toolbar or from the View More panel.
Key features:
Create Jira issues
You can select the site (if you have more than one site) before you create your issue. It will be pre-filled with your last created site.
You can fill out all configured fields for your Jira project
After you create the Jira issue, a Smart Link will be inserted into Confluence with the newly created issue
Create Confluence pages
You can select the site (if you have more than one site) before you create your page. It will be pre-filled with your last created site.
You can create and edit the page later or select Create + Open to go straight to an embedded Editor to fill in content before publishing the page.
After you create the Confluence page, a Smart Link will be inserted into Confluence with the newly created page.
Our creation experiences will continue to evolve, informed by your valuable feedback. Please let us know your thoughts in the thread below!
