📣 Beta sign up – Introducing Unified Search, the new and improved search experience

Hi Confluence Admins! waving hand

Accessing the right information quickly is key to keeping workflows running smoothly and boosting efficiency across your teams. To help you achieve this, we're excited to share that Unified Search, a revamped search experience for Confluence, is now available for closed beta. sparkles

Based on popular requests, Unified Search offers multiple ways to access your company's knowledge and allows you to search across your Atlassian products directly from Confluence with various ways to filter and sort your search results. This feature will be available to Confluence customers next year as part of your existing Free, Standard, Premium, or Enterprise plans.

If you’re eligible (check eligibility criteria at the bottom!) and interested in joining the beta, fill out this short form to express your interest by December 11th. If accepted, our team will reach out to confirm and share the next steps by mid-December.

Read on to learn more about Unified Search and details of the beta program.

Quick find

With Quick find, locating your recent work and picking up where you left off has become easier! Your recent search queries and recently viewed content will be displayed before you start typing, and as you begin to type in the search bar within Confluence, you’ll see:

  • content you recently viewed or edited in Jira, Atlassian home, and Confluence based on your search term (support for the remaining Atlassian products coming soon!)

  • your search results

  • related spaces based on your query

  • related people based on your query

Full page search

With Full page search, you will have the option to see results from your other Atlassian products, such as Jira and Atlassian home, using the filters on the right in addition to your default results from Confluence.

Sorting and new filters

We’ve heard from many of you who want to locate and update outdated content, so we’ve introduced a feature to sort your Confluence results by relevance, content creation date, and last update date. In addition, you will be able to narrow down your Confluence search results to only show pages that your team has verified.

We’re also excited to roll out a highly requested feature that allows you to filter Confluence results by the owner of the content. When combined with sorting options, you’ll be able to find all the pages you created when you first joined the company.

But it doesn’t end there! We’re planning many more Confluence improvements, such as the ability to search by page status, filter by de-activated users, and more.

Currently, you can search through Issues and Projects in Jira. Unified Search will support additional Jira content types as well as JSM, JPD, Loom, Bitbucket, Trello, Compass, and Focus.

Joining the beta

To be eligible to join the beta, you must:

  • have over 500 Confluence users on your site

  • have both Confluence and Jira products enabled (additional Atlassian products will be supported as they become available during the beta)

Before joining, also note that:

  • Unified Search will be enabled for all users on your Confluence site

  • Unified Search will not support data residency, FedRAMP, BYOK, or HIPAA during the beta program.

  • Designs shown above are concepts and may change

  • If you already have Rovo, you're already getting this experience, and more

Ready to be among the first to try out Unified Search and share your insights before its official launch next year? Fill out this form and our team will be in touch shortly!
