[Solved] Importing from GitLab SaaS Premium to BitBucket

Shaun Bebbington July 2, 2021

Hello,

I have followed this document:

https://support.atlassian.com/bitbucket-cloud/docs/import-a-repository-from-github-or-gitlab/

Unfortunately my repository on GitLab SaaS Premium is not importing to BitBucket. All of my credentials are correct for the GitLab import and I have not set up an SSH key for GitLab yet. The log tells me this:

10:23:39 git import for: https://gitlab.com/armagardltd/argaco-co-uk

10:23:39 Cloning https://gitlab.com/armagardltd/argaco-co-uk...

10:23:39 Cloning into bare repository 'Shaun-Bebbington/argaco-co-uk'...

10:23:40 remote: HTTP Basic: Access denied

10:23:40 fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://gitlab.com/armagardltd/argaco-co-uk.git/'

10:23:40 Remote Git clone failed: <class 'bitbucket.apps.asyncx.tasks.ImportException'>: Command failed. Return value: 128

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

I've resolved the issue; I will need to make the GitLab repos public temporarily, move them to BitBucket and then put the GitLab version back to private and archive if anyone has this issue.
