Show long commit hash in bitbcket

Mark Pashley May 30, 2022

I would like to view the full long commit hash within bitbucket instead of the short hash. Is this possible?

Hello @mark

Thank you for reaching out to the Atlassian Community!

From the commit list on the UI of Bitbucket Cloud, I'm afraid you can currently only see the short commit hash, however, if you click on a certain commit you can find the full hash on the commit URL, for example, https://bitbucket.org/<workspace>/<repository>/commits/<full_hash>.

Hope that this information can be useful.

Hey @Alan

You can do it using our Get a Commit API.

Yes it is very simple -

Step 1 : goto bitbucket

Step 2 : goto commits section using your left pane

Step 3 : you should see all commits listed

Step 4: hover to the right ( very next to commit ) you should get a pop ( tooltip) it will display copy hash code - click it

Step 5 : All set your have copied the full hash of that commit
