Branch Updater fails to push back to Bitbucket if branch permissions are set

When using the Branch Updater build plan method to automatically merge and push changes from develop to epic branch, if the epic branch contains permission restrictions to specific users, the push fails.  If no permissions are in place, the push succeeds and the commit 'user' is 'Atlassian Bamboo'.   How do I add that user to the branch permissions?  What is it's recognized name?
