Is is possible to pass bamboo variables to the automatic commit message set in the administration area of Bamboo? When auto-merging branches it would be helpful if the branch name could be passed to the commit message.

By right Global Bamboo variables can be passed almost everywhere. If the commit message can be passed through Bamboo I believe it should be possible.

Variable substitution is not applied to commit messages.

Depending on your Bamboo version, the information on branch names may already automatically added to commit messages. I think Bamboo 5 is the first version to have that.
