๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ Atlas goals just got more powerful

Our customers have emphasized the importance of goals in planning. We've listened to your feedback and shipped enhancements to Goals, making it easier to plan, share updates and insights.

โœ๐Ÿผ Writing goal updates is easier with new templates

6 options to suit your needs. With 6 pre-designed templates, you can choose the one that is right for the update youโ€™re giving.

Crafting updates got simpler. Start with key highlights or even embed videos for a richer experience. With a variety of options, staying on top of your goals updates has never been easier.

Streamlined formatting. With consistently formatted goal updates, you can ensure clear understanding of progress across your colleagues, teams, or the whole company. Make it easier on readers by sticking to the update format that makes the most sense for your goals.

๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿคโ€๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿป Connect your teams directly to goals

You can now add teams directly to the goals theyโ€™re working on. Look for the Teams section in the goal sidebar and add the teams that are contributing to the goal.

Once a team is added to the goal, that goal will be listed under the Contributing to widget on the Teamโ€™s profile. That way, you can easily find all the goals that a team is contributing to.

๐Ÿ“… Plan ahead by setting the start date for goals

Some goals take a long time to achieve, so apart from knowing the target date you also want to know when did the work on this goal start.

With start dates for goals you can track when a particular goal was started, without having to scroll down on the list of updates to find the very first update.

It also enables you to plan ahead and set goals that will be started in the future.

๐Ÿ“ Go beyond simple progress updates with Learnings, Risks, and Decisions

With new goal insights, your goals are more than progress reports โ€” they become teachable moments that offer valuable nuggets of knowledge for your followers.

  • Gain a deeper understanding: Followers can grasp the nuances of your journey and sift through the noise with key Risks and Decisions

  • Extract valuable lessons: Others pursuing similar goals within your company can learn from your experiences and avoid potential pitfalls with Learnings. Read more about Learnings here.

Thanks for sharing @Yerbol Nisanbayev ! Atlas has become one of my favorite tools ever, and I can't wait to try the new features. Do you know if the ones that you described in your article are included in the free plan?

I love where this product is going, any plans to allow linking to goals that might appear in other systems?

Thank you for the feedback @Robert Castaneda . Today you can add links to those goals as a URL to your goals. At this point we are not planning any native integrations with external systems, did you have any particular systems in mind?

@Yerbol Nisanbayev - we're using NetSuite internally, but can easily see the same use case where a Goal is updated in another system and being able to push the update to Atlas, and also be able to export a list of Goals from Atlas so that they can be used as higher level Goals in the HR system, for employees to create their goals underneath

Hey @Robert Castaneda , thank you for the clarification. I will add this feedback for team's consideration, so we will look into it when they we get to work on this feature.

This is all great, but why are goals that only thing in Jira that seems to be completely unrestricted? I can make any project, filter or dashboard private and some of them are private by default, but literally anyone can see any goal across the entire system? Am I missing something?

Planning ahead really needs a timeline view for goals (like there is one for projects).
