How do I upgrade addons for my hosted jira?

julio September 25, 2013

Hello,

My company uses the hosted version of jira (on demand?) and we have been using it for a few over a year, perhaps a few years.

I could like to buy a couple of addons (jira agile, confluence, and maybe others) and I cannot figure out how to do it.

Here are the steps, please let me know what I'm doing wrong:

Attempt #1

1) https://xxxxxxxxx.atlassian.net/secure/Dashboard.jspa

2) Projects => Create Project

3) Agile Scrum => Next

4) See: "To get the best Scrum experience in JIRA, we recommend adding JIRA Agile."

5) Try for free

6) Stuck there, the "Create Agile Project" dialog doesn't close, nothing happens (Chrome, OSX)

Attempt #2

1) https://xxxxxxxxx.atlassian.net/secure/Dashboard.jspa (log in with my company credentials - this will be important soon)

2) Projects => Create Project

3) Software Development => Next
4) Select
5) name, key, project lead => submit
=> success
6) cogwheel => Add-ons
7) Manage add-ons
8) Search for agile => Find "JIRA Agile"
9) Select JIRA Agile
10) Free trial => redirected to https://my.atlassian.com/products/index on my personal atlassian account
11) Log out
13) Log in with my ondemand/company provided credentials =>Please enter a valid email address
use email address that I use to log in to my ondemand instance => The email address or password you entered is incorrect.
14) Use my personal credentials => it works but now I'm buying these add-ons for my personal account, not for my company's instance.
What am I doing wrong? I've spend a whole day trying to buy these add-ons and it's been extremely frustrating. Hope you can help. Thanks.

No. That tells me how to evaluate ondemand on my personal account, not how to activate agile jira on my hosted instance.

Someone must have bought the hosted instance, which I believe is onDemand. Use that same id instead of your personal account.

Thanks Jobin, that was it!
