Can the status always show up when dragging issues between swimlanes?

If a swimlane contains two or more options for a status for an issue, it gets the status name in the are you can drop the issue into. But if the swimlane only has a single status based on the workflow, there's no status name requiring us to know what the status will be when we drop the issue there. Could it always show the status even if there is only one option in the lane?

We use JIRA 7.12 server version.

Have you considered changing the layout of your Planning Board to use 'Assignees' as swim lanes?

Doing this means the workflow status (e.g. Open/In Progress/Closed) will always remain visible at the top of the board as they serve as the 'column headers'.
