Unable to adjust ranking on some issues

I have a hierarchy that includes Initiative-Program Epic-Epic-Story-Sub-Task.

In the previous version (JIRA Live Plans) I was able to change the ranking of Epics within each Program Epic so as to move the Closed Items to the top of the display, with In Progress Items following them.

Now, it appears that I cannot do this.  Some Closed Epics can be ranked higher than some In Progress items, and vice versa.  I can find no documentation online about what limitations exist for the ranking of Epics.

Hi @Huet Landry

It might be worth to check if you have any non-default sorting defined in your view settings? This can prevent the ability tor re-rank items in the plan.

You can check under "View settings" -> "Sort by". If you choose "Rank" as the option, you should be able to rank items.

Regards,

Chris

Chris,

Thank you! that was the problem.  I was experimenting with WSJF a few weeks ago and did not re-set the sorting to rank.  I guess the anomaly was caused by the fact that some issues had a WSJF value and others did not, so the drag and drop only worked where it did not violate the WSJF sorting.
