Create button not available after installing Jira Portfolio

We have installed Portfolio trial version, the only button that shows up under portfolio tab is  Admin, we can not find the create button. See links for screenshots

Hi @Ronald Johnson,

 

I see from your screenshot that you installed a fairly old version of Portfolio (1.10.7), a lot have changed since then and I'd strongly advise you to have a look at our latest release to date (2.11) if your Jira version allows it.

This would help avoid onboarding twice in the product, before and after the update because of the numerous changes.

Hi Ronald,

I created a new user and had the same issue.  What I ended up doing was clearing out the permissions completely and leaving it like this:

Now the admin's dropdown has all the functionality expected:

The regular user does not have the administration portion:
