Bonfire and IE 8/9 : "Could not get a response from the JIRA server" error

Robert Shaw October 8, 2012

We use Bonfire 2.4.1 on JIRA 5.1 and I've installed the plug in on IE9. However, when I used my login details, I see the following error:

Could not get a response from the JIRA server - the server or your network connection may be offline.

The URL xxxxxx responded with a status code of 0

I also tried this on a different PC with IE8, and the result was the same.

I installed Firefox 15.0.1 on the same PC, along with the plug in and there was no issue.

Is there a know issue that could be affecting me?

Thanks,

Rob

It is worth looking at Release Notes for Bonfire and the Issues closed in the releases

e.g.:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BON-1848

It may help upgrading to

  • JIRA 6.0.2
  • Bonfire 2.6.6
  • Bonfire Extensions 2.6.7.0

as well.

Looks like there is some advice on that issue in BON-1848.

Same problem here in IE10, any resolution to this?

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly. However I'd try to indicate the following:

  • Open IE;
  • Navigate to Internet options;
  • Tab Advanced;
  • Check the box Enable third-party browser extensions.

Also other option would be to turn off IE Compatibility View, as you can see here.

I hope it helps.

I'm sorry but I have third-party extensions enabled, it's a default install and I can't use it still keep getting the same error.
