Modify 'Assign' screen...is it possible?

Hi All,

we are running an instance of JIRA 4.4.4.

We'd like to modify the 'Assign' screen -- the one you get by clicking the button 'Assign' to assign an issue.

We have a custom field called 'Team' and we'd like to allow some people -- only those who belong to a particular role -- to set the 'Team' field together with the Assignee.

(We'd prefer to develop a plugin rather than having a speakeasy extension or similar...).

Is this possible? If yes, how?

An option would be to disable the normal assign issue operation and do the assignement using a workflow action. You can then add the other fields also to the screen.

that could actually be a solution for us!

Although I am not too sure how to 'disable the normal assign issue operation'. How can we do this?

You can go to issue operations plugin under Administration > Plugins > System Plugins and disabled the assign-issue module.
