How do I enable the RSS feed macro without System Admin privileges?

Bob Carroll July 31, 2012

I want to add an external RSS feed to a Confluence page. I try to add an RSS macro and it tells me that the macro is unknown. I read that I need to Enable the RSS Feed Macro, but it states I need System Admin privelege. I don't have that privelege On Demand.

How can I work around these constraints and put an external RSS feed on a page?

With Atlassian OnDemand, the sysadmin permission is reserved for us (Atlassian) to perform maintenance. The 'administration' permission allows you to do almost everything in the admin panel. The issue of adding macros would fall under the restricted functions of OnDemand. The RSS feed macro is a bit different in that it is currently not included specifically due to security concerns.
