Problem with html macro while upgrading to confluence 4.2

Ganesh Gembali July 30, 2012

I got following message while starting confluence:

012-07-31 09:10:34,432 WARN [main] [atlassian.confluence.renderer.DefaultMacroManager] registerMacro Unregistering existing macro 'html' (LazyLoadedMacroDecorator{name=confluence.macros.html:html}) to replace with macro with same name (LazyLoadedMacroDecorator{name=org.swift.confluence.html:html})

And html macro is not being rendered properly on pages after upgrading from 3.5 to 4.2.

You need to be careful as there is the Atlassian provided html macro that is shipped disabled due to security and the html macro as part of the HTML Plugin for Confluence that can be secured by Macro Security for Confluence . Specificially, be aware of CONF-25656 and the related bug. You need to ensure that the correct one is being enabled.

For some reason the second (non-legacy) html module of the Confluence HTML Macros system plugin wasn't enabled. Enabling it fixed the formatting issues we were seeing ("Unknown macro: 'html'".)

I'm not 100% sure that the above warning message and this plugin module change are directly related.
