We have been using Confluence Team Calendars for 6 or so months and only recently have we experienced issues with duplicate email notifications being sent for events being added and events being deleted from Calendars.

Sometimes there are only a few duplicate emails being sent, but sometimes there are over a dozen.

We are using Confluence 3.5.13 and have downgraded to Team Calendars 2.0 as it was thought Team Calendars 2.1 was causing the issue. Even after downgrading to TC 2.0, the problem persists.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this issue?

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks, Mick

In an attempt to get rid of this problem we were setting up a new server to take over from the live server, and as a result of one additional line of information that wasn't present in the live logs, we were able to determine that a host entry in the hosts file is required to point to the local server IP and SSL name. This only seems to affect the team calendars email and not the test email in the mail server settings.

Interestingly this has also fixed the problem of the live site not begin able to scan the log files from the Support tools.

If you have anyone running purely in SSL mode, and you have some weird problems I would suggest that the SSL alias be added to the hosts file.

Sounds like this or this, but so far, it is concluded as not a product bug - either there's a confusion in regards to mail threading, or multiple accounts having the same email adress.

Thanks for responding Azwandi but unfortunately the problem is neither of these.

The problem occurs for ALL new events being created and emails are duplicated upto 7 or 8 times.

We are really scratching our heads on this one ... I think we will go to Atlassian for some advice given there is not much coming through on here.
