Confluence 4.0 - Formatting as Code no longer in dropdown?

Victor Hooi July 6, 2011

Hi,

In Confluence 3.x, I could select a bit of text and then selected it as formatted it as "Code".

The option I have were:

  • Paragraph
  • Heading 1 to 6
  • Quote
  • Panel
  • Code
  • Preformatted

However, in Confluence 4.0, the formatting options are slightly reduced:

  • Paragraph
  • Heading 1 to 6
  • Preformatted
  • Quote

Do we know if Code is going to be added back into the options?

I know you can create a code block macro with {code, however, I personally found the format dropdown a bit quicker to use.

Any thoughts/ideas?

Cheers,

Victor

It's surely coming, the editor is a work in progress at this stage, and things like tables and macros will get the most action. If you want to ensure this is on the radar, and follow the issue, create an issue at http://jira.atlassian.com/.

You could also try the {{ access to macros, it may be just not on the visual picker.
